Barbados is the 'Little England' of the Caribbean, but not so much so that the locals have given up rotis for kidney pies, or rum for bitter ale. Bajans, as the islanders call themselves, are as West Indian as any of their Caribbean neighbors.
During a period of low rain from December til May the mercury usually peaks just under the 86°F (30°C) mark, making the conditions in Barbados at this time highly visit worthy. Later in the year, the temperature gets only slightly warmer but rainfall is substantially heavier.

The south coast is made up of several very small villages strung along the coast. Most of the budget hotels, guesthouses, and apartment are located here. Towns include Hastings, Rockley, Worthing, St.Lawrence, Oistins, Silver Sands and Maxwell.

BRIDGETOWN Tours, Travel and Activities
Bridgetown is the capital of Barbados, the western most island of the Caribbean. Bridgetown is the only city on Barbados and well over half the island's residents live there. Bridgetown is the port of call for many cruise ships and is known for its duty-free shopping as much as for its more cultural and historical attractions.
Most of the Bridgetown sites are in easy walking distance of city center. City buses run to many of the outlaying sights, such as the Savanna Green. For sights off the main roads, such as the Malabu Rum Factory, a taxi or private car is your best option.

SUGGESTED ITINERARIES: BARBADOS
The capital of Barbados, Bridgetown, is a busy commercial city set on Carlisle Bay. It's an architectural mishmash of modern and colonial, with side streets leading off into residential neighborhoods sprinkled with rum shops and chattel houses.
Along the southwest coast of Barbados, there's a cluster of small, low-key towns with excellent beaches and much of the island's low to mid-range accommodations. St Lawrence, about 9mi (15km) southeast of Bridgetown, is Mr Popular, offering plenty of opportunities to chow down or party down.
